Due to consecutive years of funding cuts Somerset Impact is no longer operating as a staffed organisation ensuring the voice of parents, carers and families is heard when services are planned and provided.

However the trustees of Somerset Impact are determined that parents and carers will be effectively supported in future. With this in mind we are investigating the possibility of setting up a dedicated telephone line, staffed by volunteers who would like to help make Somerset a better place for families with disabled children.

We receive many phone calls from desperate parents who need independent support, advice and guidance. We should not have to think of our children as a burden, we should not have to fight every time we want something for our children, we should not have to live a life or frustration and regrets.

By building a strong independent voice that works with service providers to create lasting change things can get better.Having someone you can trust to talk to will be just a start.
